Name: Laura Kinney (X-23)

Canon Point: End of her solo series, prior to joining the Avengers Academy.
Age: Roughly 19

Appearance: Thankfully, Laura takes after her mother in the looks department. She's 5'6" AND 110 lbs with black hair, green eyes, and claws. Yes. Claws. Two adamantium-coated blades in each hand and one in each foot. They are retractable and cut the skin on their way out every time. Due to her healing factor, the skin closes instantly when they're not in use and you couldn't even tell she had them from looking. Because Laura was still growing when the adamantium procedure was preformed, her claws are shorter than Wolverine's.

Her style of dress is fairly gothalicious, usually consisting of leather pants and always leather boots. She also wears a choker around her neck with a locket attached. Inside the locket is a picture of Laura's mother, Sarah, and her cousin, Megan.

When exposed to the trigger scent, Laura's eyes turn red and she can't stop herself from destroying everyone around her.

Abilities: Healing factor - She heals at a super human rate. So far; We've seen her cut off her own limbs, carry them with her, and reattach them later. Stay in a building as a bomb goes off, losing skin and muscle mass, only to regenerate completely ten minutes later. And she's had her neck snapped multiple times! Basically, to kill her, you'd have to bleed her out before she could heal or decapitate her and keep the head separated from the body. Shooting her in the head would also work, but you'd have to catch her off guard.

Retractable claws - She has six retractable claws, originally made of bone but have since been placed with adamantium. Adamantium is the strongest metal known to the Marvel universe and can cut through almost any material. She can unsheathe any number of them at will.

Chemical immunity - due to the healing factor, Laura is immune to many diseases and poisons, but she can still be affected by large doses of tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, and paralysis inducing drugs. Possibly also hallucinogenics.

Superhuman sense - She can smell things far beyond normal human ability, as well as see greater distances and hear sounds from miles away. She's an expert tracker.

Super human Stamina/Agility/Reflexes - pretty self explanatory. All of this is enhanced due to her mutation as well as her training.

Longevity - "Having reached adulthood, X-23 will presumably age very slowly. if not at all but this will only be proven in the time to come."

She is also a master martial artist, skilled assassin, and fluent in many languages. All of these abilities were drilled into her since she was able to walk.

Personality: Laura is quiet. She barely speaks more than a few sentences at a time. When she does speak, it's usually with proper grammar and very rarely is there ever any slang or contractions. Most of the time, she just stares intensely and replies with one-word answers. She's very internal and withdrawn, likely because she almost never had anyone to talk to growing up. She stayed inside her own head a lot.

Laura is still struggling with her identity. To many people, she's just a clone, not even a human being. To others, she's a cold-blooded killer. She was created to be a weapon and raised a lab called The Facility. They forced her to kill the only people that had shown her any affection; her sensei and her surrogate mother. She was tortured daily and experimented on just so they could have the perfect assassin which tends to do a number on one's moral code. She has incredibly low self worth and is extremely closed off emotionally.

By the time she got out, she was unsure of how to be human. She's killed many people in her short life and is only now feeling guilt and remorse. She is just beginning to grasp feelings and empathy in general and occasionally resorts to self harm when experiencing a stressful emotional situation that she can't process, such as thinking about her kill list. Other emotions, she tends to express through anger or frustration. Being attracted to someone or having feelings for someone is usually dealt with storming off or punching things.

Despite every attempt to take away her humanity, Laura has developed a sense of justice and morality. She won't hesitate to kill someone if it will protect someone else. If someone attacks her first, they are fair game. In recent issues, she's been shown to save people nearby almost reflexively. Wolverine has helped guide her away from senseless murder to actually thinking about the consequences of her actions. She only kills if it's necessary.

She's very protective of her friends and 'family', especially Wolverine. She tends to quietly watch someone when she gets attached, and most of the time it's without them even realizing it. If anything were to happen to someone she cared about, whoever caused it would severely regret it. Harm coming to her friends triggers her usually well-controlled rage.

A lot of her actions are based on instinct and the habit of following orders, but she is learning to think for herself and make her own choices. She knows she has the ability to be good and she wants to save people, not kill them. She wants to be 'real'. A human, not a clone. She has a strong need for acceptance and a cool head under pressure. When things get messy, she'll be the calm one taking action for those who are too panicked to react.
